Project Mechanical Engineer

Location: Hybrid (Remote, Office)
Employment Type: Permanent

We’re hiring a Project Mechanical Engineer in Dubai. 

Join Gruntek District Cooling Services and take ownership of MEP retrofit and upgrade projects across chilled-water, HVAC, heat-pump, pumping, controls and metering systems—often in live, occupied buildings.

This role offers exposure to the full project lifecycle, from site surveys and design coordination through installation, testing, commissioning and handover.


What you’ll do

Manage MEP retrofit and upgrade projects from mobilisation through handover.

Support equipment selection and sizing, and supervise installation and commissioning of air-to-water and water-to-water heat pumps.

Prepare BOQs, quantity take-offs and engineering selections, including HAP load calculations, duct sizing, chilled-water sizing and pump sizing.

Coordinate subcontractors and monitor site progress, quality, HSE compliance and snag close-out.

Prepare method statements, risk assessments, checklists and client submission documents.

Perform testing and commissioning of heat pumps, PICVs, FCUs, AHUs/FAHUs, chillers, condensing units, pumps and chilled-water systems.

Produce and update AutoCAD layouts, schematics, shop drawings and as-built drawings.

Manage material submittals, inspection requests, project reporting and handover documentation.


What we’re looking for

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

1–3 years of experience in MEP, HVAC or district cooling; UAE experience is preferred.

Practical knowledge of air-to-water and water-to-water heat pumps, including installation and commissioning.

Strong understanding of chilled-water systems, ductwork and pumps.

Proficiency in HAP, AutoCAD and Excel, with the ability to create and modify drawings independently.

Basic electrical knowledge, including control panels, MCCs, starters, VFDs and single-line diagrams.

Hands-on testing and commissioning experience.

Clear written English and strong client-facing documentation skills.

UAE driving licence preferred; candidates currently in the UAE and available at short notice are preferred.
